Not Twin Peaks
If there's any Peakites out there hoping the Pines are anything like the Peaks, you'll be sorely disappointed; however, if you judge this as its own work, and view the ephemeral allusions to Twin Peaks as superficial nods, then I think you'll find this to be a pretty excellent, moody thriller.
The acting is actually pretty strong, and the mood is tense, dark, and eerie. The character's in the first episode weren't very appealing, so I hope that given some time that improves, but there were some promising moments. Overall I think this show is better compared to a creepy Truman Show more so than Twin Peaks, and that's not a bad concept, except I see Shyamalan back treading on some "The Village"-esque territory.
